Gina Bartes

Gina Bartes oversees the engagement and advocacy aspects of the Viral ElimiNATION Centers (VEN Centers). Gina has worked extensively in leading liver health education, development, campaigns, and creative programming with organizations such as Global Liver Institute (GLI), American Liver Foundation, American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), and United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS).

Gina advocates for patients, caregivers, and the community and joins a network of colleagues and liver champions across the country from many different academic centers, liver clinics, and organizations to work toward eliminating stigma and promoting access and normalization of health equity and inclusion.

Gina is co-founder of the Hep Free AZ Coalition, a state-wide advocacy effort convening stakeholders in viral hepatitis elimination efforts and elimination plan implementation. She serves on the AASLD Fundamentals of Liver Disease Committee, the Donate Life Arizona (DNAZ) Medical Executive Committee, the National Viral Hepatitis Roundtable (NVHR) Viral Hepatitis Diagnostics Working Group, the Arizona Chronic Care Together (ACT) Steering Committee, the United Liver Board of Directors, the NASH Council, the GLI Liver Action Network, and several advocacy and research related advisory boards across the globe.
